Case study: Wellness Hotel Babylon swapped its paper diary for Booqito — and bookings grew
Intro: From a paper diary to online bookings in one week
Wellness Hotel Babylon in Liberec, Czech Republic went live with Booqito in December 2025. In the first months, the four-star hotel — part of the Centrum Babylon entertainment complex, with 1,000 m² of wellness — grew reservations by 10–20 %, freed up 5–10 hours a week of admin time, and moved 75–90 % of bookings online. This is the story of how Babylon traded a pencil and strike-throughs for a shared calendar — and opened wellness to guests beyond the hotel walls.
Before Booqito: 2–4 hours of admin every day
Babylon’s wellness center offers sauna ceremonies, massages and a wide selection of regeneration treatments. Until December 2025, the entire reservation flow ran on a paper diary plus phone and email — and burned 2–4 hours of staff time every single day.
“We logged treatment and massage reservations into a diary, and the biggest pain point was the lack of clarity. When something was cancelled or moved, we had to strike it out. We had to be careful not to overlap reservations in the same room.”
— Wellness Hotel Babylon team
The real trigger wasn’t the chaos inside the hotel — it was the guest outside: “We wanted guests to be able to comfortably book themselves, based on the available slots.” No phone tag, no waiting for an email reply.
The pain before Booqito
- Paper diary as the only source of truth on occupancy
- Strike-throughs on every cancellation or move
- Constant risk of double-booking the same room
- 2–4 hours a day spent on phone calls and emails
- No online entry point for non-hotel guests
Going live with Booqito: about a week, with hands-on help
Babylon launched Booqito in December 2025. Implementation took roughly a week and the hotel rated it as moderate in difficulty. What helped the most, according to the Babylon team? Active support from the Booqito team during onboarding.
Results after the first months
+10–20 % more reservations
Once Booqito and self-service booking on Babylon’s website went live, reservations grew by 10 to 20 %. Guests book their treatments themselves, any time, with no reception queue.
5–10 hours back every week
Instead of 2–4 hours of daily admin, the Babylon team runs reservations from a shared Booqito calendar with multiple views (day, week, by room, by therapist). Each user works in the view that suits them. The result: 5–10 hours more time every week, which staff return to the actual guest experience.
75–90 % of bookings come in online
Three-quarters to nine out of ten bookings now arrive through the web — phone and email are no longer the primary channel. And alongside that, the share of online payments rose too (Babylon uses cards plus benefit payments and sells gift vouchers through Booqito).
No-shows dropped sharply
Prepaid reservations through Booqito sharply reduced the number of guests who didn’t show up. Instead of an empty slot, the hotel either keeps the payment or — thanks to online rescheduling — gets the guest in a different time.
A new revenue channel beyond the hotel
Babylon now takes Booqito reservations from guests who aren’t staying at the hotel — mostly locals from Liberec and the surrounding area. Wellness shifted from a hotel perk into a standalone sales channel.
“Guests started making more reservations. We helped by setting up an automated email that recommends wellness add-ons with a link to Booqito. The guest comfortably picks a date and time that fits their planned stay. We also started getting more bookings from guests not staying at the hotel.”
What the Babylon team says about Booqito
“Booqito significantly simplified our work with reservations — mainly the better overview thanks to a calendar with multiple view options, where each user picks the one that suits them. Another benefit is on the client side: an instant view of available slots and an easy reservation.”
Would Babylon recommend Booqito to other operations? Yes. And the reason is the same one Babylon started looking for in the first place: so the guest can comfortably book themselves.
What actually changed
- Central calendar instead of a paper diary
- End of double-bookings in the same room
- Self-service reservations straight from the website
- Cross-sell of wellness treatments via an automated post-check-in email
- Sales opened up beyond the hotel (bookings from non-guests)
- Less time on admin, more time for the guest
Closing
In December 2025 Babylon swapped its paper diary for Booqito, and the first months show that digitizing wellness reservations isn’t about replacing staff — it’s about freeing them up. From paperwork, phone calls, and patching up double entries. Add self-service booking and an automated email that nudges check-in guests toward wellness, and the numbers grow on their own: 10–20 % more reservations, 5–10 hours of admin back every week, and 75–90 % of bookings online.
