New EET 2.0: What we now know — and why Booqito users don't need to worry
In our earlier post about EET 2.0 we said the only thing we knew was that changes were coming. Now we have the concrete details — the government has published the parameters of the new EET. Spoiler: if you use Booqito, you still don’t have to do a thing.
📅 The timeline
- Go-live date: January 1, 2027
- Pilot phase: the first month runs in test mode
- “Moje EET” app launch: December 2026
- Technical specs published: mid-June 2026 by the Tax Authority
That’s a comfortable runway — more than half a year for every booking and POS vendor to implement the changes. At Booqito, we’ll begin work the moment the technical specs drop in June, so by December everything will be in place for you.
👥 Who EET 2.0 affects
EET 2.0 will cover all merchants and service providers who accept cash, card or QR payments. Effectively any on-site business — escape rooms, wellness, fitness, sports venues, rentals, go-karts and the rest.
Unless you’re on the simplified flat-rate scheme (under 1 million CZK revenue) or run a non-profit, EET 2.0 applies to you.
📊 What gets recorded
Here’s the big difference compared to the original EET. Only three data points are required:
- Transaction amount
- Sale location
- Timestamp
What’s gone:
- ❌ Detailed VAT-rate breakdowns
- ❌ Product or service-level information
- ❌ Complex item splitting
Paper receipts are no longer mandatory — they’re issued only when a customer specifically asks. This change alone saves operators a lot of time, paper and thermal-tape costs.
🛠️ What hardware do you need
Good news: whatever you already have will likely do. Smartphone, tablet, standard POS system. And if you run Booqito as your booking system? It already handles the original EET fully, and we’ll roll EET 2.0 out automatically. No new hardware, no install, no extra fees.

🛡️ Why with Booqito you simply don’t have to think about it
This is the whole point of this post:
✅ The system update happens automatically — no downloads, no setup, no install ✅ No extra cost — EET 2.0 is part of Booqito, you don’t pay a koruna more ✅ Zero downtime — operations continue, the only difference is background traffic to the Tax Authority ✅ Full legal compliance — we monitor the situation continuously and the moment the technical specs land in June we start implementation ✅ Human support — if anything comes up, we’re a phone call away
📝 So what do you need to do right now?
Nothing. Really.
If you already use Booqito, there’s literally nothing for you to do. When the go-live arrives in January 2027, the system will be ready on your behalf.
If you don’t use Booqito yet and EET 2.0 worries you, drop us a line — we’ll show you how to spin up a booking system, payments, receipts and marketing in one platform in a few minutes. And EET? Handled, end-to-end.
The two-sentence summary: EET 2.0 launches January 1, 2027, requires just three data points per transaction, and paper receipts are optional. And with Booqito it’s all dealt with in advance — no investments, no install, no stress.
Wishing you a relaxed booking season,
The Booqito Team
